Step 1: Choose Your Crutch Style
Before you measure, decide which type of crutch you need:

- Underarm Crutches: Ideal for short-term recovery and maximum stability
- Forearm Crutches: Great for long-term use, active lifestyles, and discreet support
- Stand upright with shoes on
- Measure from the floor to 1–2 inches below your armpit
- Handles should align with your wrist crease when arms hang naturally
- Measure from the floor to your wrist crease
- Forearm cuffs should sit 1–2 inches below your elbow
- Adjust the height so your elbows bend slightly (15–30 degrees)
- Make sure your weight is supported by your hands, not your armpits
- Test indoors first to ensure stability and comfort
